CHOOSING A GOOD MECHANIC
How to choose the right mechanic for you and your car
Choosing a mechanic who suits both you and your vehicle can be a tricky task but there are a few simple things you should look out for.
- First you should check who your friends go to and what they think of the service their mechanic provides.
- Once you have a few ideas check if they have a web site. View the site to help you in your choice.
- Drive past each workshop 2 or 3 times to see who is busiest, this can idicate their service is popular with others .
- who is tidiest? This is a sure sign that they care about their business, meaning they are likely to care about customers too.
- Who has the easiest entry and parking. This is purely in consideration of your own convenience but also shows they think about their customers needs.
- Then consider the convenience of the location. Is it close to your home or work. Is there transport nearby?
- Then decide who you will try first but take care. Appearances can be deceptive and ultimately you can only really find out by giving them a try.
You may need to use a workshop 2 or 3 times to test if a TRUST has developed. If you are fortunate you will find a helpful mechanic who cares about cars, who will keep you fully advised of what needs to be or should be done and who is prepared to back their workmanship with a warranty.
At Jackmans we stand by our reputation of being The Helpful Mechanic and invite you to come and try for yourself.
